“UNITY, SPORTSMANSHIP, AND STUDENT ENGAGEMENT: THE MSU-MAIN INTRAMURAL GAMES 2025”

 





The MSU-Main Intramural Games 2025 formally began with a well-organized opening ceremony that emphasized unity, school spirit, and sportsmanship. Prior to the start of the competitions, all colleges participated in a grand parade, symbolizing equality and camaraderie among the different academic units of the university.

Each college proudly marched wearing their official jerseys, representing their identity and dedication to athletic excellence. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as students, faculty members, and supporters cheered enthusiastically for their respective colleges. This event generated strong anticipation among the student body, highlighting the importance of intramurals as a major university tradition.

The opening ceremony continued with an opening salvo dance performed by selected participants. This performance showcased creativity, coordination, and teamwork, setting a festive and energetic tone for the entire intramural season. It also reflected the discipline and cooperation that are essential values both in sports and in academic life.

One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony was the lighting of the torch. Selected athletes from each college participated in this symbolic act, which officially marked the opening of all sports events. The torch lighting represented unity, perseverance, and fair competition, reminding everyone that the intramural games aim to promote participation, respect, and mutual support rather than mere victory.

Many students, including myself, were excited to take part in the MSU-Main Intramural Games 2025. I participated in both the volleyball and softball events, making the experience personally meaningful and memorable. Competing alongside my teammates allowed me to apply teamwork, discipline, and resilience in an actual competitive setting. Although our goal was to earn the gold medal, reaching the final four was already a significant achievement for our team.

For two consecutive years, our team aimed to achieve the first runner-up position, and during this year’s intramural games, we secured second runner-up. While we did not claim the championship title, the experience remained fulfilling because we fought hard, stayed committed, and gave our best effort throughout the competition.

This year’s intramural games were especially significant to me, as this marked my final playing year with the team due to my upcoming graduation. Knowing that it was my last opportunity to represent my college in intramurals made every match more meaningful. Although it was bittersweet, I am grateful for the memories, friendships, and lessons that sports have given me throughout my university journey.

The MSU-Main Intramural Games 2025 served as an important platform for student engagement, physical development, and character formation. Beyond competition and rankings, the event strengthened school spirit, fostered unity, and instilled values of perseverance and teamwork. As I conclude my final year as a student-athlete, I carry forward these experiences as an integral part of my academic and personal growth.
